Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Therapist in the Loop and therapistintheloop.org (the “Site”). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
1. Definitions
- “Site” means the Therapist in the Loop website and its pages, content, and related digital features.
- “Content” means all material made available through the Site, including Research Summaries, Articles, commentary, Newsletter content, branding, design, and related materials.
- “Research Summaries” means short educational summaries of research, including one-line or one-sentence cited summaries.
- “Articles” means longer-form written content published by Therapist in the Loop.
- “Newsletter” means the Therapist in the Loop email newsletter.
- “Updates” means related email communications about new content, workshops, Q&As, events, and similar Therapist in the Loop activities.
2. About the Site
The Site publishes educational content about AI and mental health, including Research Summaries, Articles, commentary, and related materials. The Site is not a therapy service, not a crisis service, not a diagnostic tool, and not a substitute for professional judgment, supervision, legal advice, or regulatory guidance.
3. Eligibility and Audience
The Site is intended primarily for registered mental health professionals, although some public-facing content may also be accessed by researchers and other interested readers. You may subscribe to the Therapist in the Loop Newsletter and related Updates. We may refuse, suspend, or stop sending subscription emails where we reasonably believe doing so is necessary for legal, operational, security, or anti-abuse reasons.
4. No Professional Relationship
Use of the Site does not create a therapist-client, consultant-client, fiduciary, supervisory, legal, or other professional relationship between you and the Site owners, authors, or contributors.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Site in violation of any law or regulation
- Copy, scrape, republish, or systematically extract Site content beyond what is permitted by law or written permission
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site or its systems
- Interfere with Site security, functionality, or availability
- Upload malicious code, bots, or harmful scripts
- Use Site content as a substitute for individualized professional, legal, or crisis guidance
- Misrepresent Site content as formal clinical guidance, regulatory advice, or an official standard of care
6. Intellectual Property and Permitted Use
Unless otherwise stated, the Site and its contents, including text, design, branding, Research Summaries, Articles, graphics, and compiled materials, are owned by or licensed to 17161701 Canada Inc., Katherine Gibb, and Hassan Rezaee and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You may view, use, share, quote, repost, and redistribute content from the Site for personal, educational, professional, or non-commercial informational purposes, provided that you do not remove, obscure, or misrepresent the original source, authorship, citations, disclaimers, or links where they are provided, and you do not imply that the content is your own or that you created it.
Commercial republication, resale, licensing, or use in a product or service offered for a fee requires our prior written permission.
7. Third-Party Links and References
The Site may link to third-party websites, journals, tools, products, or services. These links are provided for convenience or reference only. Mention of a product, service, or provider does not constitute endorsement. We are not responsible for third-party content, availability, security, or privacy practices.
8. Educational Nature of Content
The Site’s one-line Research Summaries and longer Articles are intentionally concise. They may omit important context such as methodology, population, limitations, setting, effect size, and applicability. You are responsible for reviewing original sources and using your own professional judgment before relying on or implementing any information from the Site.
9. No Warranties
The Site and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, availability, non-infringement, and merchantability. We do not guarantee that the Site will always be available, error-free, secure, or free from interruption.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, 17161701 Canada Inc., Katherine Gibb, Hassan Rezaee, and their authors, contributors, affiliates, contractors, and representatives will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages arising from or related to: your use of or inability to use the Site, reliance on Site content, security incidents, service interruptions, or third-party links, tools, or content. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
11. Changes to the Site and Terms
We may update, suspend, discontinue, or change any part of the Site at any time. We may also revise these Terms. Continued use of the Site after revised Terms are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Quebec and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles.
